The overarching goal of the Center-Based Social Instruction program (CBSI)
is for children to learn that communication and social interaction have
value and that by engaging in certain behaviors, they can access that value
whenever they want. CBSI is designed to provide direct instruction
interspersed with generalization opportunities with similar-aged peers and
incorporates social skill development, functional communication skills, and
emotional regulation skills. Each client is supported individually by
BT/RBT staff and supervised by a BCBA who develops a schedule and
individualized program targeting specific needs identified through direct
observation and skills-based assessments. Sessions occur weekly for 1.5-2
hours based on client needs.
